time for change. 2009
HELLO people!
i hope most of you are feeling better than I am now...head bit heavy, ear a bit deaf, nose a bit runny, throat sore, tongue numb from sucking strepsils n vicks vitamin C droplets, body a little warm.

some people commented to me that i talk/mention/take pics of alot of food...well. i'm in the process of "healing" from that disease. that by the way comes from homesickness, and winter effect (when it's cold you tend to allow your body to eat more...and that somehow stayed with me since then)
i would update you on the Msian food i missed soooooo much but i will refrain myself from doing so. but i do want to mention that i had had most of what i longed for. esp on the last day. so i am satisfied. =)
my parents told me a few days after i got home that they'll be buying me a ONE-way ticket this year cos my brother's graduating end of the year and they'd come over for that n have a short trip...so boohoo to console and satisfy myself, i ate n ate. then a few days after i got back to adelaide, my brother called up n told me that his graduation will not be in december anymore but the following april. Gr---ea---t. all those eating n extra kilos for no reason. my parents are considering to buy me a ticket home end of the year, but we'll see how.
uni is officially starting next week (classes). weeeeee....im in uni already! i am excited. well, i was. until i sat in for preliminary lectures (pre-lectures during orientation for lecturers to tell you what uni life will be like, what they expect n scare everything out of you)...MANY/ALL lecturers stress that in uni you'll be doing alot of SELF-INDEPENDENT learning n studying. ONE prelim lecture in particular paints a scary road ahead. INFORMATION SYSTEMS I requires a lot alot a lot of self work. the lecturer tells us that the lectures every week will mainly stress on areas which you do not understand (meaning you'll have to do reading before n after class) and there would be very minimal powerpoint slides up on MyUni (a site for students to access online their enrolled classes...assignments, anouncements, lecture notes n powerpoint slides, etc). she advises us to NOT fall sick or have any misadventures because every tutorial class would be different and if you miss one class, you'll just miss out. GREAT! n i already feel im beginning to fall sick right before week 1 of uni!
ppl think that accountancy is an all easy breezy course. haha. let me tell you that it does NOT seem like one!after sitting in for most of the prelim lectures they seem pretty chalenging to me. ohya btw, i have decided to take accountancy course with Uni of Adelaide. i was just chatting with a fren from college last year and she was telling me she's feeling stressed out even before uni begins. she's taking law and says there's a whole pile of stuff to read before week 1 and she has to read the news everyday cos there's discussion on weekly topics for tutorial. so yea, uni's not all fun n games. seems like hard work. they say u should have 2 hours of self study for every 1 contact hour....that's 24 hours on top of 12 hours contact for me then!sighs. i havent even bought all my textbooks yet. i AM excited about uni....but now am feeling im not ready yet....sighs. im a bit worried too. im going to do something totally different from what i've been doing. changing from science to commerce....hmmm.....i'll let you know whether it's a hard transition much much later in the year or something.
for now. lets end with some pics.
i transitted in singapore for a good worthwhile 10 hours before my connecting flight. thankfully i've got some relatives there. they were kind enough to take us to the city and walk in VIVO CITY. the ride down to city by MRT took 1 hr+. at the mall i saw something that caught my attention....was an eye opener for me! i came across this BUILD A BEAR WORKSHOP (literally)
first you choose the "skin" and then head on to the audio area where you can insert an audio recorded sound or if not you simply head to the stuffings area. there's this machine that swirls stuffing around like sheep wool and a tube portruding from it that you insert to the back of the soft toy's "skin". in seconds the bear inflates up with stuffing and a worker will help stitch it up.
next you head to this "bath-like area" where air is pumped out and you can brush the bear's fur to make it fluffy (or fluffier).
then u proceed to the "dress-me-up" area where you can choose n dress the bear in different outfits (u pay for them la....ard S$15...from hats to clothing to shoes!)
if u don want to, u can head on to the last procedure, which is creating a birth-certificate for the bear! the whole process of building your own bear costs S$25. cool huh?
but then, who needs to build a bear when u have a really gargantous one?
oh. introducing my latest cousin!
isn't she adorable? although she's cute n angelic looking, she's quite a handful for a 7 months old!
signing off with one of adelaide's known figures. hehe.
